Christine is an ordained minister with the Bancroft Centre for Awakening Spiritual Growth. She is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with over 30 years experience in field of Early Childhood Intervention and Family Service. Through her ministry Anamchara Spiritual Connections Christine provides compassionate companionship on life's journey through all the seasons of living and dying. She is a fierce mental health advocate with experience with grief and trauma. She is a trained grief facilitator and has a passion for supporting people on their end of life, grief, and healing journeys. Her focus is on supporting people with complex grief and trauma. Christine is the Co-founder and Director of Ryan’s Hope. Christine and her husband Tom founded Ryan’s Hope in memory of their son Ryan who lived with mental illness and lost his life due to a toxic drug poisoning on November 29, 2020. Ryan’s Hope mission is to advocate for and support people living with mental illness, substance use issues, and experiencing homelessness. Christine provides direct boots on the ground support to those who are unsheltered in her community through street outreach and encampment support. Through her advocacy work Christine has been invited to Parliament three times to speak on the toxic drug crisis and has been awarded the following honours, 1st Runner up for the 2021 Mayor’s Innovation Awards in the Community Impact category Honourable mention for the 2022 Layton Activism Award, and the Community Builders Legacy Award in 2022. Christine was a grand prize winner in the 2023 national Sunlight's Helping Canadians Shine Contest. She is a powerful voice for change advocating with all levels of government for change to laws and policies that continue to harm and oppress marganilzed populations.
