This week, Reverend Lisa Dales will be giving a talk called "The Art of Wintering". Wintering teaches us that healing and clarity often arise in quiet. When movement slows, truth becomes audible, fatigue can be acknowledged, and deeper needs can be met. What feels like emptiness is actually preparation. To practice the art of wintering is to live in rhythm with life’s cycles—understanding that resilience is built not only through effort, but through rest. When wintering is honored, what emerges next is grounded, nourished, and able to grow without strain. In essence, the art of wintering is learning how to pause without abandoning yourself—and discovering that stillness, held well, is a form of devotion. Reverend Lisa will also be leading the meditation and opening and closing prayers.
